Sorry it's been a while...

Posted by Brigid Robine on Monday, June 14, 2010,
I think I have overcome my technical difficulties enough to come back and update things.  The session has been going strong since its inception and we continue to meet new musicians every week.  This coming week is Father's day.  I would like it if you could e-mail me to let me know if you plan on attending.  If we do not have enough people, we will cancel it for the weekend and resume it for the 27th.  (I am not available that weekend) and July 4th is kind of up in the air aswell.  So imput ...

Grand Opening and Session Recaps...Mother's Day session

Posted by Brigid Robine on Tuesday, May 4, 2010,
Well I have to say, the Grand Opening was SICK!  We played for an extra hour just because we were having such a blast and so was the crowd.  We were all a little worse for wear at te Session the next afternoon, but we continue to grow and get more players!  Thank you to Ed, Joan, Terry, Rich, Bill, Molly & Barbara...(forgive me I think I'm missing someone) for playing along with me.  We hope so see some more newbies coming along each week as the word continues to spread and the sessions becom...

My new Brain "Child"

Posted by Brigid Robine on Sunday, May 2, 2010,
I was thinking last night as I watched the dancers how I'm sure some of them play or are interested in playing music.  Even though our session is open to everyone, I was thinking of trying to organize a "Children's Session" once a month where the kids run the session.  I am going to contact a few dance schools and music teachers who I can find and run the idea by them and if you know of any one who teaches children or any children who play, lets have them email me so we can get this organized...

Grand Opening was more than Grand!

Posted by Brigid Robine on Sunday, May 2, 2010,
Well,I am still recovering from the Grand Opening last night.  I didn't realize how much Barry really put into it.  Free food and open bar for two hours, step dancers, pipers, our little band (for which we have no name) and EVEN PIRATES!  We had such a blast playing we played til almost 8pm without a thought.  The crowd was great...good tune requests.  So now lets build off of that with the sessions!  The session is going on today from 1-5 and I will be bringing down a paper for those who are...

Update week of April 26th-May 2nd

Posted by Brigid Robine on Wednesday, April 28, 2010,
Well.  This was a crazy weekend.  I ended up doing double duty playing at a feis in Syracuse Saturday and then one on Sunday in Valley Forge so I was played out and never even made it to the session.  Ed had a previous engagement as did Maryanne and Iris.  BUT I would like to thank Barbara, Joan and Jim ( whoever you are) for playing for a couple of hours and being troopers on Sunday.  Jim, if you are out there, thank you for making the long drive and please come back again.  You caught us on...

Update week of 4/19...session review

Posted by Brigid Robine on Monday, April 19, 2010,
All I can say is WOW!  What a great time!  I would first off like to thank everyone who came out to play with me...Maryanne, Ed, Terry, Barbra, Joan and Iris.  We had 7 musicians for our first time out and it was fantastic.  The spread for the musicians was delicious.  Great stage, plenty of food and drink on the house and such an appreciatve and enthusiastic staff and audience made this better than I could have hoped for.

People heard us from the street came in, sat down and stayed the entire...

Update for April and May

Posted by Brigid Robine on Thursday, April 15, 2010,
Welcome to our Blog.  This is the first posting and all are encouraged to blog about their experiences at our session and to ask questions.

This Sunday is a GO!  Again 1-5pm.  The following Sunday, the 25th is up in the air.  Myself and another core musician, Ed Saults, have prior commitments.  So please, if you would like to play, please let me know so I can see if there will be enough musicians (minimum of 3) to hold a session.  If we can get three people definitely playing, the session will...
